Anyone living with children knows: toys have a way of spreading. And more often than not, the room’s aesthetics get lost in the process. Berlin-based label Present Stories, founded by sisters Antonia Terhedebrügge and Silvia Terhedebrügge & Zeise, tackles exactly that—with play furniture that brings together thoughtful design and everyday family life.
The idea for Present Stories was born from a very personal need: the wish for objects that encourage imaginative play without clashing with the aesthetic sensibilities of adults. Today, the label stands for a clear vision: to design timeless products that accompany families in their everyday lives—focusing on quality, aesthetics, and flexibility.
The Present Stories collection is based on modular foam elements available in various sets. They can be stacked, combined, and reimagined over and over again. The “Remmi Demmi” set, for example, includes a half-round shape and a block with a circular cut-out—two elements that work both on their own and as a pair. What at first glance looks like geometric wooden toys reveals itself, upon closer inspection, as a versatile furniture piece—perfect for climbing, building, or relaxing. Whether it becomes a sofa, a hideout, or a balance track: the elements adapt to the play, not the other way around. The fabrics and colors are carefully chosen to integrate effortlessly into modern interiors without losing that sense of playful lightness.
