The four founders of Swedish PX-Lab – Gustav Bennich, John Bergevald, Simon Ljungblahd, and Felix Torrsell – have chosen an unconventional marketing strategy for their Assembly_One table lamp: it is sold in individual parts and must be assembled by the buyer. With over eleven hours of battery life, adjustable brightness and color temperature, and a flexible light body that can be directed in multiple directions, the technical features leave nothing to be desired. Beyond its impressive functionality, the lamp also scores points for sustainability, as all components can be individually replaced – making it a long-lasting companion. The individual parts are available at fair prices on the PX-LAB website.
The assembly process itself is unique: buyers receive a kit with instructions to guide them through the build. By manually bending and assembling the parts, the inner workings of the lamp are revealed. This transparent process provides a deeper understanding of this everyday object. With its industrial aesthetics, mechanical details, and geometric forms, the Assembly_One stands out clearly from typical battery-operated table lamps with elegant silhouettes. It is available in traffic light red or with an aluminum finish (starting at 258 euros).
